She has been working as an associate professor at the School of Sociology at Universidad Diego Portales in Chile since 2010. Her teaching focuses on methodologies for social research, especially qualitative methods, in both undergraduate and graduate programs.<\/p>\n<p>Her areas of interest are related to parenthood -including non-hegemonic forms such as same-sex parenting, assisted reproduction, and adoption-, disability, and qualitative methodologies. Her experience as a researcher and mother with visual impairment has led her to investigate the parental experiences of people with disabilities in Chile. She is also an associate researcher at the MICARE Millennium Institute.<\/p>\n<p>Florencia has published 6 children&#8217;s books that deal with topics related to citizenship, disability, inclusion, and gender.
