Andrea Rojas is an Occupational Therapist from the Universidad de Chile and holds a Master’s degree in Methods for Social Research from the Universidad Diego Portales. She joined the DISCA team as General Coordinator after having coordinated DiscaPaís, a project by the Universidad Austral and the Universidad de los Andes in Chile that sought to promote the leadership of people with disabilities in 12 regions of Chile. Since 2014, she has taught courses on autonomy and independent living systematically in various postgraduate programs at the Universidad de Chile. In addition, she worked for 8 years at the National Disability Service, creating the Independent Living Transition Program and later advising other public and private institutions on implementing inclusive management practices.

Her work has always been in teams with people with disabilities. Her research has focused on the exercise of rights of people with disabilities and the promotion of their inclusion and participation by eliminating the systematic barriers they face. The methodologies she has used are mainly qualitative within the framework of participatory action research.
