Pedro Jofré

Pedro Jofré is a sociology student at Diego Portales University, with a special interest in gender, sexuality, and disability issues. He completed the university’s Honors Diploma in Gender Studies, focusing on critical theory and feminist studies.

In 2024, he joined the Núcleo Milenio DISCA after developing his undergraduate thesis within one of the Núcleo’s research lines. His research, titled Virtual Interactions and Physical Disability: A Study on the Use of Dating Apps in Chile, explores how people with physical disabilities construct their identities and manage the disclosure of their disability in digital environments, offering a critical perspective on sexual-affective relationships and social exclusion in these spaces.

As a member of DISCA, he participated in the First Congress on “Disability and Citizenship,” in the roundtable “Experiences of People with Disabilities”, where he presented his graduation project.
