Pamela Loreto Gutiérrez Monclus is a researcher and academic. Associate researcher at DISCA and Associate Professor at the Department of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science of the University of Chile, since 2008. She develops research around intellectual disability, participation and independent living.
As an Occupational Therapist, she practiced five years in Primary Care, in the area of inclusion and mental health. He then completed his Master’s and Doctorate studies in Social Psychology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain. In her doctoral thesis, she reviewed the logic of subjectivation and governmentality in the Occupational Therapy intervention in Barcelona, which linked her to the disability activism of the Catalan Independent Living Movement.
She was part of the Presidential Advisory Commission of the Government of Michelle Bachelet, on the Inclusion of People with Disabilities 2015-2016.
