As an undergraduate student in the Sociology program at Universidad Diego Portales, I have participated in several activities throughout my academic career. These include my first intervention during my freshman year and the creation of a FANZINE: Taller de competencias teóricas (Theoretical Skills Workshop), as well as a sociological journal: Historias de la calle (‘El fin del mundo’) (Street Stories: ‘The End of the World’), both from the Universidad Diego Portales Social Transformations Lab.
As a researcher, I am still exploring potential areas of specialization and wish to investigate various topics before committing to one. My thesis focuses on family and disability, for which I will conduct case studies. Therefore, DISCA is fundamental to this project. My aim is to understand and explore the daily lives of persons with disabilities and to shed light on the everyday experiences of Chilean families.
