From my inner sun, I enjoy the beauty of life. Being born with low vision in a world that did not know what is known today about disability and what we can contribute to society has allowed me to be a happy witness to this paradigm shift.
On a personal level, I enjoy my family and pet, knitting, practicing yoga and Pilates, studying, and sharing what I learn with my blind peers.
Professionally, I have experience in inclusive education—working with children and youth, adults, parents, and professionals—as well as in the rehabilitation of blind adults. I have guided students through their primary and secondary education, and supported the functional rehabilitation of adults and their families who lose their vision and don’t know what to do or where to turn to move forward with their lives.
I have practiced co-teaching in general education classrooms, supporting subject teachers and students who require personalized attention.
Today, I feel that nothing I have lived through has gone to waste. Disability takes us on a roller coaster of highs and lows, good and bad, beautiful and ugly, sweet and bitter—but whether we hold on tight or let ourselves fall is entirely up to us.
