    “This compilation brings together a collection of academic texts selected within the framework of the CAIRO-LISBON2024 conference — The Challenges of Sexual and Reproductive Rights and Health in Portugal, in Lusophone Countries and in Latin America, held online by ISCTE—University Institute of Lisbon, on December 5 and 6, 2024, with national and international participants. This conference was organized to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the International Conference on Population and Development, held in Cairo in 1994, a historic milestone that redefined the way development policies are conceived, placing human rights, gender equality, and sexual and reproductive health at the center of the global agenda.”

  2. Doblemente desaparecidos [Doubly disappeared]

    “Doubly Disappeared” is a historical research project in which we seek to reconstruct the stories of people with disabilities who were victims of political violence during the dictatorship in Chile, so that they are no longer made invisible and their stories may illuminate our present.

    In this document, we have compiled the stories we have found of 21 people with disabilities who were victims specifically of enforced disappearance and political execution.

    This work is incomplete and imperfect. We know that 21 is an unfair number; we have no doubt that other people with disabilities who were disappeared and executed are missing from this document. We also lack the identification of people with disabilities who survived detention and torture, and we even lack knowledge of the history of people who acquired a disability as a result of the detention and torture they were subjected to.

    “Doubly Disappeared” is an invitation to gather more information about these stories and add the history of other people with disabilities, but also to make the necessary reflections. It’s an invitation to talk with victims, family members, and memory sites, to address what these stories mean, and, above all, what the absence of those who were disappeared and executed has meant.

    This text is a guide for using a feminist perspective when teaching and conducting research on disability in Latin America.

    This guide emerged from the multiple conversations one of its authors (Constanza López Radrigán) had with researchers and activists in the field of disability who are based in or connected to the region. These conversations complement the findings she reached as part of her doctoral thesis, which aimed to articulate a feminist approach to disability from a Latin American perspective. Therefore, this guide is based both on these conversations and on some of the central conclusions she reached in her doctoral work. By virtue of the work’s focus on the perceptions and experiences of forty-two researchers and nineteen activists, the guide is intended for those dedicated to the processes of teaching, learning, and producing academic knowledge about disability in this territory.

  4. Baby MICARE Manual de Intervención para Profesionales [Baby MICARE: Intervention Manual for Professionals]
