Violeta is a lawyer from Universidad de Chile and a doctoral candidate in the Doctorate in Law program, mention in Constitutionalism and Law, at Universidad Austral de Chile. She is also a fellow of the National Doctoral Program of the National Research Agency (ANID).
Her areas of interest are related to the exercise of rights of persons with disabilities, especially in the study of criminal law and the link with persons with disabilities. Her areas of interest are also related to the study of the right to health of persons with disabilities and the protection and defense of persons with disabilities in health care.
From 2020 to date, she has participated in various research projects linked to disability legal studies, both as a research assistant or doctoral student. Also since 2022, she has been working in a commission for the protection of persons with intellectual, cognitive and psychosocial disabilities of the Ministry of Health.
